Garland has been working in the outdoor Industry for over 25 years and now focusses mainly in the fields of
training and development. Mark is a Provider of Mountain Training’s Walking, Climbing and Coaching awards
as well as running BMC FUNdamentals courses, National Coasteering Charter Coasteering Training and
Assessments as well as MIAS mountain biking and some watersport training. As well as delivering many
courses, awards and training programmes, Mark also moderates programmes for Mountain Training and
NICAS. These roles are to ensure quality in the delivery of other providers.

You’ll find Mel working on our Walking and Climbing Awards. Mel has a huge passion for the outdoors and is an avid explorer of new places. She loves to climb and coach and runs her own woman’s only courses.
Jay delivers Climbing and Coaching courses and is particularly active on the sea cliffs, (if it’s over E2 he might even put his rock boots on, or at least do his shoe laces up). He is an accomplished coach and works with the GB development squad. He again has some impressive alpine stories, but don’t mention his boots on Les Drus.
Cara’s passion is training. She focuses on personal development of both physical and mental skills. You’ll findher mostly on our walking courses, but she loves to climb and even has some first ascents to her name.
Simon delivers Climbing and Walking courses and thrives in Scottish Winter. He is a seasoned alpinist and has completed first ascents in the greater ranges of over 7000 metres. He is on the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team and on the AMI training Team.
Sam has a strong passion for the outdoors and works on Lowland Leader courses. She is also a real water baby and loves to be in the sea.
Pete (El Torro) delivers Climbing and Walking courses and has an impressive UK climbing tick list, (many solo including Cemetery Gates). He is also an accomplished alpinist and has been on some of the biggest hills in the world included Everest. AKA the Gruffalo.
Paul works on walking and climbing awards . He’s a strong sport, trad and big wall climber with an impressive tale of the Nose on El Capitan in Yosimite. He also runs some coasteering yet has the ability to stay dry.
